2020-2024 MT-03 Frame Sliders Installation
Tools needed:
-8mm hex (Allen) driver
-6mm hex key
-3/8" or 1/2" ratchet
-Torque wrench
Warning: This installation must be completed by a qualified mechanic using the proper tools and knowledge to thoroughly complete the installation.
Frame Sliders
1. Start on the right side of the bike by removing the plastic plug at the location shown in Figure A.
We recommend putting the plastic plugs and factory screws in a small bag and keeping them under the passenger seat for use if frame sliders are no longer desired.
2. Using your 8mm hex driver, loosen the engine mount screw beneath the plastic plug shown in Figure A.
Do not loosen both mounting point screws at the same time. Only work on one side at a time.
3. The left and right mounting points and frame sliders/hardware are the same. Without using any type of grease or thread locker, insert the supplied 100mm mounting screw with washer through the slider and thread the screw into the engine mount where the factory screw was removed.
The supplied washer must not be removed/omitted from the screw. WARNING: THE WASHER MUST BE ON THE SCREW BEFORE INSTALLING THE SLIDERS
4. The screw should thread in by hand with little resistance. Any resistance may indicate cross-threading of the screw threads, which will damage the engine mount point.
5. Final tighten the screw with your torque wrench using the factory torque specification which normally can be found in a dealer shop manual. We do not provide torque specs.
6. Repeat the previous steps to complete the left side slider installation.
Please remember:
- The slider can turn on the spacer if an excessive twisting force is applied.
- In the event of a drop or crash, a single slider can be purchased.
Swingarm Spools
1. Use a small amount of blue thread locker on each screw and install the spool using a 5mm hex key and light force. The spool installs on a tab on the underside of the swingarm near the rear axle (figure B). Overtightening will cause the screw to break.
