Fork Sliders
Note: This set is installed with the front axle in its normal operating position. It is critical that these instructions are followed precisely.
1. Apply medium strength threadlocker compound to the mounting screw for the right side slider. The right side slider is the one with the larger diameter base of the two sliders, and it uses the shorter screw. To keep everything clean insert the screw and washer into the slider before applying the threadlocker. Thread the screw all the way into the connecting rod until the rod and slider base are touching. It is not necessary to tighten the screw at this point, you will final tighten the screw at the end of installation.
2. Insert slider and shaft assembly into the right side of the axle.
3. Insert the screw through the other slider and apply medium threadlocker compound to the screw. While holding the right side slider and shaft firmly in place by hand, insert the slider/screw into the axle and carefully start the screw into the shaft. It may take some careful positioning of the shaft to get the threads started into the shaft. Care should be taken not to cross-thread the screw- the screw should turn easily into the shaft.
4. Turn the screw all the way in- it should take several turns before it begins to tighten.
5. Using an Allen key on both screws, lightly torque the screws. If you put the ape on it on this step you will strip the threads. Threadlocker and light torque will hold the screws in place, just give the threadlocker about thirty minutes to set up before you ride.
There should be no lateral movement of the assembly once installed. If there is, either you messed a step up in installation or we made a mistake during packaging of the components(it happens). If you have any doubt that the installation is correct, do not ride the bike with the fork sliders. Take them back off, go ride, and contact us later to figure it out.
Swingarm Spools
Apply a small amount of blue thread locking compound to the supplied screws and use a 6mm allen key to install each spool with medium force.
