2018-2023 KAWASAKI Z900RS/RS-SE/RS CAFE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR:
-Frame Sliders
-Fork Sliders
-Swingarm Spools
WARNING: The installation of all parts in these installation instructions must be performed by a qualified motorcycle mechanic who is using the correct tools and who understands the correct use of all tools required to complete the installation.
Tools you will need:
Torque wrench
3/8 or 1/2" drive ratchet
14mm socket
6mm Allen key
8mm hex (Allen) driver
medium length extension
Frame Sliders
NOTES:
-These sliders bolt directly to the engine mounts of the bike and require no modifications or cutting of the fairings, frame, or any other part of the motorcycle.
-Work on one side at a time.
1. Locate the engine mount circled in red.
(When installing the sliders, the plastic cap in the frame at the mounting point will need to be removed first.)
2. With the 14mm socket and ratchet, loosen (counter-clockwise rotation when viewed from the side of the bike) the factory engine mount screw and remove it from the frame.
The left and right sliders and hardware are exactly the same.
WARNING: THE WASHER MUST BE ON THE SCREW BEFORE INSTALLING THE SLIDERS
3. Position the frame slider and screw/washer onto the mounting point and thread the screw into place and hand tighten. There should be very little resistance when hand tightening the screw.
4. Tighten the screw to the factory torque specification (same as factory screw).
Repeat steps 1-4 to complete the frame sliders installation.

Fork Sliders
Notes:
The fork sliders are mounted at the point of the arrow shown in the photo below.
This set is installed with the front axle in its normal operating position. It is critical that these instructions are followed precisely.
1. Apply medium strength threadlocker compound to the mounting screw for the right side slider. The right side slider is the one with the larger diameter base of the two sliders, and it uses the shorter screw. To keep everything clean insert the screw and washer into the slider before applying the threadlocker. Thread the screw all the way into the connecting rod until the rod and slider base are touching. It is not necessary to tighten the screw at this point, you will final tighten the screw at the end of installation.
2. Insert slider and shaft assembly into the right side of the axle.
3. Insert the screw through the other slider and apply medium threadlocker compound to the screw. While holding the right side slider and shaft firmly in place by hand, insert the slider/screw into the axle and carefully start the screw into the shaft. It may take some careful positioning of the shaft to get the threads started into the shaft. Care should be taken not to cross-thread the screw- the screw should turn easily into the shaft.
4. Turn the screw all the way in- it should take several turns before it begins to tighten.
5. Using an Allen key on both screws, lightly torque the screws. If you put the ape on it on this step you will strip the threads. Threadlocker and light torque will hold the screws in place, just give the threadlocker about thirty minutes to set up before you ride.
There should be no lateral movement of the assembly once installed. If there is, either you messed a step up in installation or we made a mistake during packaging of the components (it happens). If you have any doubt that the installation is correct, do not ride the bike with the fork sliders. Take them back off, go ride, and contact us later to figure it out.
Swingarm Spools
The spools mount on the swingarm at the point of the arrow shown in the photo below. Apply a small amount of blue thread locking compound to the supplied screws and use a 6mm allen key to install each spool with medium force.
