03-04 GSXR1000 FRAME SLIDER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: The installation of all parts in these installation instructions must be performed by a qualified motorcycle mechanic who is using the correct tools and who understands the correct use of all tools required to complete the installation.
NOTE: These sliders bolt directly to the engine mounts of the bike and require no modifications or cutting of the
fairings.
The right side of the bike is the side with the throttle, and the left side of the bike is the side with the clutch lever.
1. Locate the forward engine mounts in the frame of the bike; they are visible through the vent holes on both
sides of the bike.
2. Install one slider at a time- do not loosen both engine mounts at the same time.
3. Starting with the right side, loosen (counter-clockwise rotation when viewed from the side of the bike) the
factory engine mount bolt and remove it from the engine mount; do not loosen the pinch bolts on the frame.
4. For the right side, select the shortest of the two sliders; it uses the 80mm long bolt, the shortest of the two
bolts that are provided for mounting of the sliders.
WARNING: THE WASHER MUST BE ON THE SCREW BEFORE INSTALLING THE SLIDERS
5. Place the slider over the mounting point and insert the bolt through the slider and the engine mount, then turn
the bolt clockwise. You should feel the threads of the bolt engage the threads of the engine mount. There
should be little resistance until the bolt head contacts the aluminum spacer inside the slider.
6. Torque the screw to the factory torque specification (same as factory screw).
7. For the left side, use the longer of the two sliders and the 90mm long bolt. Repeat steps 3-6.
If you damage one slider in a crash or drop, you can order just the side you need on our website.
