2009 SUZUKI GLADIUS FRAME SLIDER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Tools you will need:
3/8 or ½" drive ratchet
14mm socket
8mm hex (Allen) driver
medium length extension
NOTE: These sliders bolt directly to the motor mounts of the bike and require no modifications or cutting of the
fairings, frame, or any other part of the motorcycle.
The right side of the bike is the side with the throttle, and the left side of the bike is the side with the clutch lever.
1. Locate the forward motor mount on the right side (circled in red, fig A). This mount is a tab that extends off the
bottom side of the frame tube and is directly above the radiator hose.
2. With the 14mm socket and ratchet, loosen (counter-clockwise rotation when viewed from the side of the bike) the
factory motor mount screw and remove it from the motor mount.
3. For the right side, select the slider with the longer, smaller diameter base.
Apply a small amount of grease or oil to the threads of the mounting screw supplied with the slider.
4. Place the slider over the mounting point and insert the screw through the slider and the motor mount, then turn
the screw clockwise. You should feel the threads of the screw engage the threads of the motor mount. There
should be little resistance until the screw head contacts the aluminum spacer inside the slider.
5. If using a torque wrench, torque the screw to 35 ft lbs. If you do not have a torque wrench, use a ½”-drive ratchet
and apply moderate forces; do not use a breaker bar to tighten the screw.
6. For the left side, the mounting point is in the same area but the tab extending from the frame is smaller (circled in
red, fig B). The tab is directly beneath the label on the frame that lists the VIN number, motorcycle weight,
manufacture date, and other information.
7. For the left side, install the slider that has the long, tapered base. The smaller diameter will allow the slider to
clear the frame tube.
Apply a small amount of grease or oil to the mounting screw supplied with the slider.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete the installation for the left side.
