2004-2006 Yamaha R1 Frame Slider Installation Instructions

1.        Start on the right side of the bike (do not loosen both sides at once) by removing the engine mount
bolt. This is the bolt that goes through the frame and into the side of the engine- it is visible through the
opening in the side fairing.
2.        Identify the right slider- it is the shorter slider with the 1/2" wide groove cut into it for clearance of
the fairing.  Lightly lubricate (any type of automotive grease or oil will work) the supplied bolt and install the
frame slider. The bolt should be with the slider already, but if you get them mixed up, it is the longest of the
two bolts.
3.        Do not use an air-powered impact wrench to install the slider bolt. If using a torque wrench, tighten
bolt to 35 lb/ft.
4.        Make sure the right side is tight before starting on the left side.
5.        For the left side, use the same procedure- remove the engine mount bolt and install the longer
frame slider using the same torque as the right side.

Problems or hang ups with the installation should be addressed by giving us a call. A simple call may help
avoid frustration.

To keep the original shine of your OES frame sliders, use a wax or polish on them every couple months.
Minor oxidation over time is normal, so the wax or polish will prevent the oxidation.

If one side is damaged in a crash or drop, we offer single side replacements, instead of buying a complete
set.
